Anna's HummingbirdA male hummingbird along the Coyote Canyon Trail, Anza Borrego State Park CA March 12 2003. I'm a little hesitant of the identification. Note the straight bill and red colour behind the eye. Occasionally the head and gorget flashed completely red, so it's probably an Anna's Hummingbird.

Burrowing OwlBurrowing Owls are common along the ditches bordering State Route 30 west of Callipatro. This one bristled at my presence. Photographed February 07 2003.

Great Horned Owl - perched in a Poplar Tree at the San Luis Reservoir, Los Banos CA March 18 2003. Its ear tufts are bent in a screeching wind.
